Who can take part

  • You can be in one of three groups: newly diagnosed type 2 diabetes (no meds yet), healthy volunteer, or someone who has had part of their pancreas removed.
  • If you have diabetes, you must be between 25–70, have an HbA1c of 7–12%, and a BMI of 20–35.
  • If you're a healthy volunteer, you must be 25–60, have a BMI of 19–26, and be in overall good health.
  • If you've had pancreatic surgery, you must be 20–80 and have a confirmed pancreatic condition.
  • You cannot be taking any diabetes medication or drugs that affect your pancreas.
  • You must not have had prior pancreatic surgery (applies to diabetes and healthy groups) or severe organ disease.
