  • You have been newly diagnosed with stage IV colorectal (colon/rectum) cancer
  • You have not started any cancer treatment yet
  • You are 18 years or older
  • For control comparison: you do not have any cancer diagnosis
  • You do not have illnesses or medicines that could change inflammation or immune levels (for example, inflammatory bowel disease or active autoimmune disease)
  • You have not used corticosteroids or immunosuppressing medicines recently
