- You are over 18 years old.
- You have a bladder tumor seen on an ultrasound or larger than about 2 cm on other scans.
- This is the first time you are having surgery for this tumor.
- Your body mass index (BMI) is 30 or less.
- You do not have a bladder catheter in place.
- You have not had bladder or prostate surgery before.
- You have not had bladder treatments like BCG or Ametycine before.
- You have not had radiation therapy to the pelvis before.
