Omega-3 for stress and nutrition in kids on dialysis

This study tests whether taking omega-3 supplements (a type of healthy fat) can help reduce stress on the body and improve nutrition in children who are on regular hemodialysis. If your child fits the age and dialysis requirements and has not taken similar supplements recently, they may be able to join.

Who can take part

  • Your child must be between 6 and 18 years old.
  • They must have been on regular hemodialysis for at least 3 months.
  • They cannot have other major diseases like lupus.
  • They must not have a severe active infection.
  • They must not be allergic to fish oil or any ingredient in the omega-3 supplement.
  • They must not have taken omega-3 or other antioxidants in the last 6 months.
