Who can take part

  • You must be an adult (18 years or older).
  • You have a soft tissue sarcoma that has not spread to other parts of the body and is being treated for the first time.
  • You are scheduled to have surgery to completely remove the sarcoma, with the goal of curing it.
  • The surgery will be on a limb or the trunk area, or on the retroperitoneum (deep in the abdomen).
  • Your surgery is not a palliative procedure (to relieve symptoms only) and will not be an amputation.
