  • You are pregnant with one baby in a head-down position.
  • You are at full term and planning a vaginal birth.
  • You plan to get an epidural for pain relief during labor.
  • You do not have a fever or any infection when you are admitted to the hospital.
  • You are in good health overall (not classified as a high-risk patient by your doctor's anesthesia team).
