Comparing diarrhea treatments for children ages 6 months to 5 years

To Assess the Mean Time of Resolution of Diarrhea

  • Diarrhea started suddenly and has lasted less than 2 weeks.
  • Child does not have a long-term stomach or bowel condition.
  • Child is not severely dehydrated (needing emergency fluids).
  • Child is not allergic to any of the study medicines.
  • Child does not have a serious other illness or a weakened immune system.
