- You are 18–80 years old
- You have never been treated for H. pylori infection before
- You need to start taking a PPI (stomach acid medicine) soon for gastritis, ulcers, or similar stomach problems
- You have tested positive for H. pylori on at least two of these: blood antibody test, stomach tissue biopsy, or rapid urease test
- You have not taken H. pylori-killing antibiotics in the last 4 weeks
- You are not pregnant, breastfeeding, or unable to give informed consent
