This study is creating a registry to learn how the immune system responds to BK virus in people who have recently received a kidney transplant from a deceased donor. Researchers hope this information will help improve treatment for BK virus infections.

CMV prevention in kidney transplant patients
This trial tests two ways to prevent CMV in kidney transplant patients who are at high risk. It compares giving antiviral medicine preemptively (based on regular blood tests) versus giving it as prophylaxis (starting right after transplant). The goal is to see which approach prevents CMV infection better.
