- You currently have multiple erythema migrans rashes (Lyme-related expanding skin spots)
- You are not pregnant and not breastfeeding
- You do not have a weakened immune system
- You have not had a serious allergic reaction or dangerous side effect to doxycycline before
- You have not taken an antibiotic that also treats Lyme in the last 10 days
- Your Lyme disease is only in the skin (no symptoms affecting organs like the heart, joints, or nervous system)
