Who can take part

  • You have verified gastric (stomach) cancer, or you fit one of the study comparison groups described by the study (including certain people having endoscopy or an average-risk group).
  • If you’re in the “endoscopy” groups: you’re currently scheduled for, or have already had, an upper endoscopy for a medical reason.
  • If you’re in the average-risk group: you’re aged 40 to 64 and you do not have “alarm symptoms” (concerning warning signs) at the time of enrollment.
  • You are willing and able to participate, including giving breath samples and doing the other study steps.
  • You can physically do the breath sampling and related procedures, and you can sign the consent form.
