Who can take part
- You are a premenopausal woman age 18 to 50
- Your BV test result shows an abnormal Nugent score (greater than 3)
- You have had recurrent BV with 3 or more documented episodes in the last 12 months
- If you could get pregnant from sex, you agree to use effective birth control during the study
- You have not had certain recent vaginal/cervical/uterine infections (other than BV) and no major reproductive tract conditions
- You have not used certain medicines recently (like probiotics/prebiotics or antibiotics) and have no metronidazole allergy
