Who can take part
- You must be age 18 or older.
- If you have preeclampsia, you must have severe features after 20 weeks—very high blood pressure plus either high protein in the urine or one or more warning signs (like low platelets, liver enzyme rise, kidney strain, lung fluid, new severe headache, or vision changes).
- If you are in the control group, you must not have preeclampsia or any pregnancy-related high blood-pressure condition.
- You must be between about 22 weeks and delivery time (the study includes two time windows: 22 to 33 weeks 6 days, and 34 weeks or later).
- You can’t qualify if you have another type of pregnancy blood-pressure problem other than preeclampsia with severe features (for the preeclampsia group).
