Who can take part
- If you are in the Zika-exposed group: your mother had lab-confirmed Zika or possible Zika that couldn’t be ruled out
- Have normal newborn head size and a normal early physical exam (no major initial concerns)
- Early brain scans (if done) should not show significant problems—only mild, non-specific findings may be allowed
- Be able to be contacted and able to complete follow-up visits over time
- If you are in the non-Zika control group: be born at term (37+ weeks) and have no developmental concerns
