Who can take part
- You’ve been diagnosed with achalasia type I or type II (not type III).
- Your symptoms score (Eckardt) is greater than 3.
- You are between 14 and 70 years old.
- You can sign a consent form in writing.
- You have not had prior surgery involving the esophagus, stomach, or chest area (mediastinum).
