Checking people after POEM for achalasia

This is a study that collects information in a research database for adults with achalasia who are referred for POEM, a procedure to help food move more easily. It may help researchers understand outcomes and care for people with achalasia.

This study tests a procedure called POEM-F for achalasia types I–II or III. It may help people who haven't had treatment or who've had balloon dilation before.

This trial studies how well POEM and other endoscopy-based (through-the mouth) treatments work for conditions like acid reflux, achalasia (trouble moving food), and Barrett’s esophagus. It may help doctors compare outcomes and choose the safest, most effective procedure for your situation.

This study looks at how often acid reflux (heartburn) and esophagus irritation happen after a procedure called POEM for achalasia, and what factors make it more likely. Your answers and usual tests may help researchers understand who is at higher risk and why.

This study looks at how useful the POEM procedure is for people with gut “motility” (trouble moving food through the digestive tract). If you’re already scheduled for POEM, your team will also track how well it helps and whether it’s practical in real care.

This study looks at a specific treatment (“ARAT”) to help people who develop acid reflux after a procedure called POEM for achalasia. It may help reduce reflux symptoms and abnormal acid levels in the stomach/esophagus after the original procedure.
