This study tests how to manage two related problems at once: gallstones in the gallbladder plus stones in the common bile duct. You may be offered a procedure plan to remove the bile duct stone, based on findings on a special scan.

Who can take part
- You’re age 16 to 70
- You have symptoms like biliary (bile-related) pain, with or without yellow skin/eyes
- Blood tests show abnormal liver/bile-related enzymes (at least one specific marker is elevated)
- Imaging suggests gallstones and also possible common bile duct stones, such as a widened bile duct
- Your MRCP scan must show a common bile duct stone (or stones)
