X-Linked Hypohidrotic Ectodermal Dysplasia (XLHED)

Who can take part

  • Pregnancy must be confirmed, and you must be no later than 23 weeks 6 days pregnant
  • The mother must be a confirmed carrier of an EDA gene mutation (genetic test confirms this)
  • The baby must be diagnosed with XLHED and be male
  • There must be no major extra body problem besides XLHED that could strongly affect safety or outcomes
  • The family must include an untreated male relative (6 months to 75 years) with the same EDA mutation
  • There must be no active serious pregnancy infection and no known maternal HIV infection
