Who can take part
- Be between 18 and 60 years old
- Not have diabetes, based on a fasting blood sugar level
- Have kidney function test results showing either normal or reduced kidney function (eGFR/clearance)
- Be in the right weight range for the group you match (BMI above 30, or BMI 18–30)
- Have urine test results showing low-to-moderate protein/leakage (microalbumin/creatinine or protein in urine under set limits)
- No major recent kidney worsening, serious ongoing infections/inflammation/heart disease/cancer, or bladder urine problems
