Study tracking sugar and immune cells in ovarian cancer fluid

Who can take part

  • You have ovarian cancer
  • You have ascites (fluid buildup) that needs to be drained
  • You can sign informed consent and understand the study
  • You do not have diabetes, or abnormal A1C (a blood test for average sugar levels)
  • Your blood sugar is in a normal range (about 4 to 11.1 mM) before the glucose infusion
  • You are not receiving chemotherapy during the 5 hours of the study
