- Have a functional GI disorder that fits the Rome IV symptom standards
- Not be dealing with a short-term (acute) illness right now
- Do not have a known bleeding disorder
- Do not be on a transplant waiting list and not be awaiting transplantation
- In the past 2 months, you have not taken antibiotics
