Who can take part
- You are between 40 and 69 years old (at the time of the ultrasound).
- You have never been diagnosed with breast cancer, including DCIS (a non-invasive breast cancer).
- Your mammogram (within the last 12 months) showed dense breasts (BI-RADS C or D) but no concerning finding (BI-RADS 1 or 2).
- You are coming for a routine screening breast ultrasound using a machine (automated) or hand-held device.
- You have not had both sides of the breast removed for prevention (prophylactic mastectomy).
- You have not had certain breast procedures or devices on both sides (implants, prior foreign-body injections, or breast reduction/removal surgery).
