Who can take part
- You are 18 to 70 years old
- Your BMI is 35 or higher (a common obesity measure)
- You are scheduled to have either Roux-en-Y gastric bypass (RYGB) or sleeve gastrectomy
- You can understand the study and sign informed consent
- Your care team says you are suitable for RYGB or sleeve surgery (not considered “not fit”)
- Your BMI is below 60
