Biopsy or surgical removal for glioblastoma in older adults

Who can take part

  • You are 70 years old or older
  • Your MRI shows a glioblastoma pattern with a ring-like enhancing tumor and signs of tumor death in the center
  • Your overall ability to function is fair-to-good (Karnofsky score of 70 or higher)
  • You can sign written informed consent
  • Your tumor is not in the cerebellum, brain stem, or the brain’s midline
  • You do not have multiple tumor spots (only one area on contrast MRI)

Removing part of a brain lobe for certain glioblastomas

This trial tests if removing only part of the affected brain lobe (instead of the whole lobe) is safe and effective for a specific type of glioblastoma that has certain gene changes (IDH wild-type and TERT promoter mutation).
