Who can take part

  • You can understand the study and sign consent.
  • You have severe urinary symptoms from an enlarged prostate (BPH), with an IPSS score of 20 or higher.
  • Tests show blockage and a large prostate: weak urine flow (Qmax 15 mL/second or less) and prostate size of at least 50 mL.
  • You are not able to take prostate medicines (they didn’t work or aren’t safe for you, or you prefer not to take them).
  • You must not have certain conditions such as bladder cancer being treated now, recent pelvic radiation, active urinary infection, urethral narrowing/strictures, bladder stones left in place, nerve-related bladder problems, or high bleeding risk.
  • You must be able to safely undergo the procedure, including no iodine contrast allergy and kidney function with eGFR 35 mL/min or higher. High bleeding risk (INR > 1.6) and inability to have light sleep sedation can also exclude you.
