- Your doctor estimates your life expectancy is at least 6 months (up to about 2 years) based on a risk score
- You score 6 or higher on a brief thinking/alertness test (AMT)
- You (or your legally authorized representative/family) can and will sign informed consent
- Your traditional Chinese medicine symptom pattern matches “damp heat in the spleen” and “spleen deficiency with water stop” (meeting symptom counts)
- You are able to speak the study language and are alert enough to participate
