Adjuvant pyrotinib plus capecitabine for tiny HER2 breast cancer

This trial studies whether adding pyrotinib and capecitabine after surgery can lower the risk of cancer coming back in people with very small, lymph-node–negative, HER2-positive breast cancer. It’s for patients who fit specific tumor size and HER2 test results and who can safely take chemotherapy-like medicines and stay on contraception during treatment.

Who can take part

  • You are a woman age 18 to 70.
  • Your breast cancer was removed by surgery and is “tiny” (no larger than 1 mm) with no lymph node spread (N0).
  • Your tumor is HER2-positive (either HER2 3+ on the biopsy, or HER2 0–2+ but HER2 amplified on FISH testing).
  • Your hormone receptors are low/negative (ER and PR under 1%), or you meet the trial’s hormone-receptor definition for eligibility.
  • You must be well enough to take treatment: ECOG 0–1, and blood counts, liver, kidneys, and heart tests meet limits (including QTc < 470 ms and LVEF > 50%).
