- You have a liver tumor that can be removed using a minimally invasive surgery type called MIS Kawaguchi-Gayet grade I
- You do not have cirrhosis (scarring of the liver), based on scans, symptoms, signs of high portal pressure, or blood tests
- You do not have major heart or lung problems that would make surgery unsafe
- You can stay within 50 miles of the medical center for the early period right after surgery
- You are 18 years or older and can sign the consent form
- You are not pregnant
