Test genetic marker tracking to find returning colon polyps

This study looks at stool or tissue DNA changes (called mutation analysis) plus colonoscopy findings to detect whether colon polyps come back. It may help catch recurrent colorectal lesions earlier during surveillance after a large polyp was removed.

Who can take part

  • You had a colon polyp larger than 10 millimeters removed during colonoscopy
  • The polyp removal method used was endoscopic removal (EPE, EMR, or ESD)
  • You can sign consent for the study and for the colonoscopy plan
  • You do not have a known inherited colon cancer syndrome (like FAP or HNPCC)
  • You are able to have colonoscopy (no medical contraindication)
  • You do not have severe, active inflammatory bowel disease or serious health problems that could prevent follow-up
