- You are 18 years or older
- You are scheduled for an open liver surgery removing 3 or more segments
- You can understand Dutch well enough to consent and follow study instructions
- You do NOT have cirrhosis (scarring of the liver)
- You can do the required breathing/metabolism tests (CPET and indirect calorimetry)
