Who can take part

  • You are between 20 and 40 years old.
  • You are having your first planned cesarean section (not in active labor).
  • Your pregnancy is a single baby (not twins or more) and is full term (37 to almost 42 weeks).
  • Your pre-pregnancy weight was within a healthy range (BMI 18.5–29.9).
  • You do not have serious health problems like high blood pressure, diabetes, bleeding disorders, or severe anemia.
