Who can take part
- You have been diagnosed with Parkinson's by a specialist
- You are a veteran and can go to the Richmond VA Medical Center
- Your Parkinson's is at a stage where you have balance or walking problems but can still walk (stages 2 to 5 on the Hoehn and Yahr scale)
- You do not have other serious health conditions like severe heart or lung disease, dementia, or osteoporosis
- You are between 5 feet 1 inch and 6 feet 3 inches tall and weigh less than 250 pounds
- You can walk for 20 minutes with breaks during the first visit
