Arm and shoulder tests for healthy tennis players and swimmers

This study is for healthy tennis players and swimmers. It tests a set of physical performance tests for the upper body (arms, shoulders, hands) to see how well they measure athletic ability. If you are a competitive tennis player or swimmer and have no arm or shoulder problems, you may be eligible.

Who can take part

  • You are generally healthy.
  • You play tennis or swim competitively for at least 3 hours per week.
  • You have never dislocated your shoulder.
  • You have never had surgery on your arm, shoulder, or hand.
  • You haven't had a major injury in the past 2 months that affected your training or performance.
  • You do not have any numbness, tingling, or weakness in your arms or legs, and you do not have a chronic disease like diabetes, lupus, or arthritis.
