Who can take part
- Your baby was born between 22 and 40 weeks of pregnancy and now weighs between 500 grams (about 1.1 pounds) and 3000 grams (about 6.6 pounds).
- Your baby has been diagnosed with Bell's Stage IIA or higher NEC, meaning there is air in the bowel wall seen on an X-ray or ultrasound.
- Your baby does not have a hole (perforation) in the bowel and does not need immediate surgery.
- Your baby is expected to live at least 2 weeks and does not have a life-limiting condition.
- Your baby does not have another serious medical condition (like major birth defects, bleeding disorders, or a weak immune system).
