Who can take part

  • You must have kidney cancer that has spread to other parts of your body.
  • You must have had a CT or MRI scan of your chest, belly, and pelvis within the last 5 weeks.
  • Your cancer must have a clear cell type (the most common kind).
  • You must be able to lie flat for 30 minutes for the scan.
  • You cannot have had any cancer treatment (like chemotherapy or radiation) before, except for skin cancer treatment.
