Who can take part

  • You are 18 years or older
  • You have chronic kidney disease (CKD)
  • You have fatty liver disease (nonalcoholic)
  • You do not have other liver diseases like hepatitis B or C
  • You do not have end-stage kidney disease (GFR <15 ml/min)
  • You do not drink more than moderate amounts of alcohol (over 2 drinks per day for men, over 1.5 for women)
  • You are not taking medications known to cause fatty liver
  • You are not pregnant
