Who can take part

  • You are 18 years old or older.
  • You have a stone in the upper part of the ureter (the tube connecting your kidney to your bladder) that is 2 cm or smaller, seen on a CT scan or X-ray.
  • You do not have an untreated urinary tract infection.
  • You are not pregnant.
  • You do not have any known anatomical problems like a narrowed ureter or prior urinary diversion surgery.
  • You do not have a bleeding disorder that can't be corrected, a urinary tract tumor, or a transplanted kidney.
