  • You are over 18 years old.
  • You are pregnant with one baby (a singleton pregnancy) between 37 and 42 weeks.
  • Your baby is positioned head-down (cephalic presentation).
  • Your doctor has decided you need oxytocin to start labor.
  • This is your first baby (nulliparity).
