Testing a sedative to reduce anesthesia needs during gallbladder surgery

Who can take part

  • You are between 18 and 45 years old.
  • Your physical health is rated as mild risk (ASA I or II).
  • You are scheduled for elective gallbladder removal surgery with small incisions (laparoscopy).
  • Your body mass index (BMI) is less than 30.
  • You are not pregnant and not currently nursing.
  • You have no history of long-term pain or substance abuse.
  • You are not allergic to the study drugs.
