Who can take part

  • You are a man between 18 and 41 years old.
  • You have early to moderate male pattern baldness (types IIA to IV on the Norwood-Hamilton scale).
  • Your natural hair color is chestnut brown, dark brown, or black.
  • Your hair on the top of your head is at least 1.2 inches long and you agree to keep it that length for the study.
  • You agree to have a small shaved patch (about half an inch square) on your scalp for the study.
  • You agree not to dye, bleach, or perm your hair during the study.
  • You will use condoms if your partner could become pregnant.
