Who can take part

  • You are 18 years or older.
  • You have a middle ear problem (like infection, hearing loss, or fluid) that needs a CT scan.
  • You do not have a tumor or cancer in the temporal bone that has changed its shape.
  • You have not had a major injury or fracture to the temporal bone.
  • You do not have a birth defect affecting your head or face, or prior mastoid surgery.
  • You are able to safely have a CT scan (no pregnancy, allergy, or kidney issues).
