  • You must have cancer and be scheduled for a PET scan in a nuclear medicine unit.
  • You cannot have increased FDG uptake caused by non-cancer issues like widespread bone marrow activity or a lung infection.
  • You cannot have large amounts of cancer spread to the organs being studied.
