Who can take part

  • You are between 18 and 80 years old.
  • You have a broken bone in your upper arm, forearm, thigh, or shin that is not an open wound fracture.
  • You have only one main injury (or others that are similar enough for comparing recovery).
  • You are planning to have surgery (osteosynthesis) to fix the bone.
  • You do not have cancer, a weak immune system, or certain infections like hepatitis or HIV.
