New drug to reduce side effects of chemo and radiation for lung cancer

Who can take part

  • You have a type of lung cancer called non-small cell lung cancer.
  • Your cancer is stage II or III and could not be removed by surgery after initial treatment.
  • You are well enough to be up and about at least half the day (ECOG score 0, 1, or 2).
  • Your liver, kidneys, and bone marrow are working well enough.
  • You have not had radiation therapy before.
  • You have not had severe lung inflammation from previous immunotherapy.
  • You do not have any other active cancer.
  • You do not have a weakened immune system from birth.
