Who can take part
- You are 18 or older and have been diagnosed with non-small cell lung cancer (either adenocarcinoma or squamous cell carcinoma).
- Your cancer is stage IIB (tumor larger than 4 cm), IIIA, or IIIB where the lymph node involvement is limited and can be surgically removed (N2 only, not bulky).
- If you have adenocarcinoma, you must have been tested and do not have an EGFR mutation or ALK rearrangement; if you have squamous cell cancer, you don't need this test unless you know you have one of these mutations.
- You are healthy enough for major lung surgery and your lung function is adequate (FEV1 and MVV at least 50% of predicted).
- You have not had any previous treatment for your lung cancer, including chemotherapy or radiation, and you are not taking long-term steroids or have serious autoimmune diseases or active infections.
