  • You are 20 years old or older.
  • You are admitted to the adult intensive care unit (ICU).
  • You have been in the hospital for more than 30 hours.
  • You do not have acute kidney injury (sudden kidney damage) at the start of the study.
  • You are not currently receiving hemodialysis (a type of blood filtering).
