Anticholinergics for cervical edema in labor

Who can take part

  • This is your first baby (first-time mother).
  • You are pregnant with one baby (not twins or more).
  • You are at least 34 weeks pregnant.
  • Your water has broken (ruptured membranes).
  • Your baby's heart rate tracing is normal (Category I).
  • You are in active labor with your cervix at least 6 cm dilated.
  • You are not allergic to diphenhydramine (Benadryl).
