This study looks at how common kidney problems are in people with chronic liver disease who are admitted to Sohag University Hospital. If you qualify, doctors will check your kidney function after stopping certain medicines for a few days.

Who can take part

  • You have been diagnosed with chronic liver disease (like signs of liver failure or abnormal liver tests or ultrasound findings).
  • You are 70 years old or younger.
  • You do not have any known kidney disease or blocked urinary tract.
  • You do not have diabetes.
  • You do not have high blood pressure.
  • You are willing to stop taking water pills (diuretics) for 3 days before the lab tests.
