Who can take part
- You must be otherwise healthy before the infection happened (not on immune-suppressing medicines or have a known immune problem).
- You had a life-threatening infection caused by a virus, bacteria, fungus, or other germ—even if the germ was not found—or from a vaccine strain (like measles or yellow fever).
- Your infection fits one of the serious patterns listed, such as severe pneumonia, brain infection, bone infection, or repeated skin abscesses.
- The infection was unusually severe, recurrent, or long-lasting for a normally healthy person.
