Who can take part

  • You are between 18 and 60 years old.
  • You are currently in the intensive care unit (ICU) and expected to stay for at least 7 days.
  • You need to receive nutrition through a feeding tube.
  • You do not have a history of stomach or intestine surgery, blockages, or bleeding.
  • You do not have severe liver problems.
  • You have not been taking certain stomach acid reducers or gut movement drugs in the last 4 weeks.
